Sweet Charity 2018

Sweet Charity Advert

We performed this hit 60s musical from 8th to 12th May 2018, at the Dobbie Hall, Larbert. We had a total blast performing the many fab numbers from the show including The Rhythm of Life, Big Spender and I Love to Cry at Weddings.  Here’s some of audience feedback:

“Went to see this last night, please pass on to all the cast that I absolutely loved it! Such amazing voices, they could be singing on a West End stage . Fabulous , didn’t want it to end!”

“Great cast, music and performance. Thoroughly enjoyed it.”

The Falkirk Herald said “Larbert Amateur Operatic Society production of Sweet Charity is a treat”. Read their full review.

What’s Sweet Charity about?

Sweet Charity is a poignant and funny look at the adventures, or rather, misadventures in the ways of love encountered by the trusting and gullible Charity Hope Valentine. Charity works as a dance hall hostess at the Fandango ballroom. She always gives her heart, and her money, to the wrong man. Charity sings, dances, laughs and cries her way through romances and is always hopeful that soon she will be married to the right man. Her friends at the Fandango are with her throughout her adventures giving her advice and support along the way.

Sweet Charity includes many hit songs such as Big Spender and the Rhythm of Life. It also has iconic dance numbers such as The Richman’s Frug.
